Competition requires the ability not only perform at aggressive physical levels, but also to perform at the very limit of cognitive intensity. College athletes often describe the sensation of a game or their individual movements slowing down when they’ve completely focused in on their performance. Reaching this ideal state of physical performance and mental focus is difficult, and professional athletes each develop their own personal workflows to try to reach and perform in this state.

Athletes who can sustain this level of physical exertion and mental concentration have a distinct advantage over their competitors. Our programs are designed to create distinct physical and mental challenges that build new neural pathways which are demonstrated to help athletes perform in a state of ultra concentration. An important aspect of the physical and mental challenges created by the SMARTfit system is how they can be shaped to simulate movements that relate specifically to each athlete’s sport, unique abilities, and life. Athletic trainers can design personal challenges and workout routines that seek to build on an athlete’s strengths and improve their weaknesses. The SMARTfit system also provides a new perspective on training while still working through familiar movements.

Part of the challenge of high level sports training is finding continuous motivation to work through long periods of similar workouts and training. With SMARTfit athletes can perform physical functions important to their sport like push ups, turns, or ball activity, while engaging in cognitive gaming. This creates intensive cognitive activity while accomplishing important core physical movements. Athletes leave training sessions feeling more mentally sharp, and this heightened sense of focus is carried over into their athletic performances.

Application Companion

SMARTfit is a workout console with an integrated CPU which allows users to configure a comprehensive collection of games, drills, and training modes to fit a variety of clinical scenarios. Custom lesson plans can be designed which allows clinicians to create their own nuanced approach to therapy, rehab, or coordinated healthcare, and engage patients in varying levels of cognitive intensity from mild to aggressive. Users can control the CPU from a remote application that is compatible with iOS and Android devices allowing users to develop their own personal workflow.
